Dr. Jasprit (Jessy) Chuckal, Ph.D., C.Psych. (she/her)
Psychologist (Supervised Practice)
Dr. Jasprit (Jessy) Chuckal is a Psychologist in supervised practice at Riverwise. She is in the final stages of becoming licensed and registered as a Clinical and School Psychologist with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario. At Riverwise, Dr. Chuckal provides comprehensive psychoeducational/psychological assessments and provides intervention for children and adolescents. She is supervised by Dr. Maaike Canrinus and Dr. Chantelle Quesnelle.
Dr. Chuckal has gained extensive experience in working with diverse children, adolescents and their families in a variety of settings including schools, private practices, and community mental health. She specializes in the assessment of learning disabilities, mood disorders, behavioural and attention-based concerns, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and intellectual disabilities, among others.
Although Dr. Chuckal pulls from varying therapeutic approaches, her lens is rooted in a strengths-based and client-centred ideology. She has always held a particular passion for exploring the “whole child” and how varying constructs, including family dynamics, parenting, culture/ethnicity, identity, school, and peer relationships, intersect and impact the well-being and resiliency of children and adolescents. Through this journey, she hopes that they can work together to unpack how they see themselves and how they feel their world sees them.
